Acceptable use & anti-spam

The rules that keep our network safe, lawful and fair for every customer.

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. About this policy

This policy applies to everyone who uses an internet or network service provided by IOTech Global Hub Limited ("IOTECH", "we", "us"), including customers, their staff, residents and guests. It forms part of our Internet Service Terms and your service agreement, and supports section 4 of our NCC-approved Consumer Code of Practice. Customers are responsible for making sure anyone using their connection follows it.

2. Unlawful use

You must not use our services to break any Nigerian law or regulation, including the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 (as amended), the Child's Rights Act 2003 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. In particular, you must not use our services to:

  • create, store, share or access child sexual abuse material, or groom or exploit children in any way;
  • commit or facilitate fraud, identity theft, phishing or other cybercrime;
  • promote terrorism, incite violence, or share content that is unlawful hate speech;
  • infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights;
  • harass, threaten, stalk or defame any person, or share someone's personal data or intimate images without their consent.

3. Security and network abuse

You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, device or network, including ours;
  • carry out denial-of-service attacks, port scans or vulnerability scans without the owner's permission;
  • spread viruses, ransomware, botnets or other malicious code;
  • spoof IP addresses, email headers or caller identities;
  • interfere with, tamper with or reconfigure our equipment or network without our agreement.

If your devices are compromised and start attacking other networks or sending spam, we may restrict your service until the problem is fixed. We will tell you what we found and help you resolve it.

4. Fair use of the network

You must not resell, share or redistribute your service outside your premises unless your agreement allows it, and you must not use the service in a way that degrades it for other customers. Fair Usage Policies apply to some plans to prevent network congestion, as set out in your plan and our Traffic Management & Fair Usage Policy. Peer-to-peer networks and unregulated downloads are discouraged.

5. Anti-spam

Your obligations. You must not use our services to send unsolicited bulk messages, whether by email, SMS, messaging apps or any other channel; to send messages with false or misleading sender details; to harvest email addresses or phone numbers; or to host websites advertised through spam. Commercial messages must be sent only to people who have agreed to receive them, and must include a working way to opt out.

Our commitments. We send you marketing messages only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time by replying to the message, using the opt-out link, or contacting our support team. We respect Do-Not-Disturb (DND) preferences and do not send unsolicited messages to subscribers who have opted out. Service messages about your account, billing and faults are not marketing and will still be sent.

6. Reporting abuse and unlawful content

If you see spam, an attack, fraud or unlawful content coming from our network, please report it to [email protected] with the subject "Abuse report", or call +234 704 700 0226. Include the date and time, IP address or website address involved, and any evidence such as email headers. We will acknowledge your report within 24 hours.

To report child sexual abuse material, see our Child Online Safety page. Do not download, copy or forward the material, even to report it.

We do not monitor the content of your communications, but when we receive a valid notice from the Nigerian Communications Commission or another competent authority, we will disable access to unlawful content within 24 hours, or within any shorter time the notice requires.

7. What happens if this policy is breached

Depending on how serious the breach is, we may give you a warning, restrict or suspend your service, or end your service agreement, in line with your agreement and our Consumer Code of Practice. Where possible we will contact you first, but we may act immediately where there is a serious risk to our network, other customers or the public, or where the law requires us to. We will report suspected crimes to the appropriate authorities and cooperate with lawful requests.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, regulation or our services. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
